Full Details

In alignment with the Center for Desert Agriculture’s (CDA) vision to create sustainable plant-based food production systems that will contribute significantly to feeding the Kingdom by 2030, we must engage with local communities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The CDA is therefore seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and communicative person that is interested in leading our CDA outreach and community engagement projects. The candidate will be required to work independently with all KAUST stakeholders, especially with The KAUST School (TKS) and KAUST’s office of Social Responsibility to develop project plans and proposals, and to oversee the implementation of our CDA outreach projects.

The CDA’s a first community engagement project is to work with the TKS and Thuwal public school systems to create a “farm to table” sustainable agriculture program based on the “Edible Schoolyard” model, with the aim to educate the Saudi an Expat youth on the importance of healthy and sustainable diets through hands-on educational experiences in the garden, kitchen, and cafeteria that connects children to food, nature, and to each other.
